Gary Carter spent 19 seasons in The Show, 11 of them with the Montréal Expos. The Kid’s youthful energy helped him and his teams both in the batter’s box and behind the plate. Over the years, Carter totaled 2,092 hits and 324 homeruns. On defense, he caught 810 runners attempting to steal a base. While Gary Carter was an elite catcher, he also played games at first base, right field, left field, and third base so managers could keep his bat in the lineup while resting his knees from the grind of playing catcher. This poster design features elements of the Expos avant-garde uniforms, with red and royal striping juxtaposed against white and powder blue. Carter is pictured patrolling home plate in full catcher’s gear, ready to block the plate to prevent a run from scoring.
