Ken Griffey Jr.

George Kenneth Griffey Jr. electrified the sport of baseball throughout the 1990s by hitting home runs and making spectacular plays in centerfield. Overall, Junior tallied 630 home runs, 13 All-Star appearances, and 10 Gold Gloves. His 630 dingers ranks seventh in MLB history. Griffey spent his first 11 seasons patrolling center in the Pacific Northwest with the Mariners before playing nine seasons with Cincinnati, where his father Ken Griffey Sr. also had success. He finished his career playing a year with the White Sox before returning to Seattle for his final two campaigns. Although his career numbers were affected by injuries, Junior routinely made difficult catches and displayed arguably the sweetest swing in baseball. Furthermore, he sparked the trend of the backwards hat, as he routinely wore a flipped cap during batting practice. This poster design shows Griffey’s flawless mechanics and one of baseball’s quintessential ’90s jerseys against a teal and navy background with GRIFFEY in big letters to match his presence on the field.
