Erie SeaWolves

The Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers calls northwest Pennsylvania its home. And while their current color scheme of black, red, and athletic gold may feel right for Western PA, it does not evoke thoughts of the parent club. My concept adds a weathered feel to not only the wolf but also the script. The wolf I designed has a vicious snarl to complement its eye patch and tattered hat, along with a pair of crossed bats behind it to imply the international symbol of pirates, the Jolly Roger. The script makes use of a series of notched cut into the letterforms along with wave lines to underscore the choppy waters that seafarers must be able to survive. A standalone E completes the logo set, while an ERIE wordmark is reserved for the team’s road attire. The home and away jerseys features striping along the sleeve cuffs and collar in orange with the type in navy on the white and grey jerseys, and vice versa for their navy counterparts. A pair of alternates round out the uniform offerings, one of which is an all-navy getup paired with a white cap, while the other features white and orange horizontal stripes and a cap designed to mimic a try-corner hat.
