San Antonio Missions

Since 1888, baseball has been played in the home of the Alamo, with those games occurring as a part of the Texas League for almost 30 years and counting. The San Antonio Missions wore black and gold until the 2015 season, when they traded the scheme for navy, gold, and red, strengthening both their relationship with Texas and with the affiliate, the San Diego Padres. My concept returned to the black-and-gold- days with silver added in, a nod to the most successful sports franchise in the city. My primary logo combines an updated typeface and moves the baseball from flight and uses it as the bell. M and SA letter marks are used on the caps and feat the Alamo shape with a lone star. The typeface is blocky with western flares on the vertical strokes of the letterforms. At home, the team can opt for a white vest with a black-and-white trucker-style cap or a black jersey with an all-black lid. While traveling the greater Texas area, the team can play in a grey vest or a black jersey featuring a silver SAN ANTONIO wordmark. On Sundays, the Missions can choose to wear a throwback-inspired jersey with a lone star cap or an all-black uniform with a black-and-gold cap complete with the initials S.A.
